<image:caption>Tara Gould lives in Glynde, East Sussex and is a writer, artist, creativity & wellbeing teacher and founder of Kin. Tara has been working as a writer, creativity teacher and text based artist for over two decades. She has also had many short stories published and plays broadcast on Radio 4. Tara first began experimenting with cyanotypes for an exhibiton at Glynde Place in 2019. She has since made hundreds of sun prints and is currently working on a cyanotype project called Tree Gods, using surreal nature photographs and cyanotype transparencies to be exhibited at ‘Out of the Woods’ in May 2021. A hiker and a nature lover, Tara has explored every corner of the section of the South Downs where she lives and is passionate about helping people connect with the environment and their nearby nature.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work with me - Create your own Botanical Cyanotypes - Cressida Murray</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a photographer, living in Lewes with my husband and two daughters and I particularly love taking informal portraits of children and families as well as individuals in their work environment, using as much natural light as possible. I studied English and Drama at University and began my career as a teacher in London and having raised my family I took on further study and became a professional photographer. Alongside my portrait photography I like to create fine art prints and work creatively within the beautiful environment of the South Downs. Most days I can be seen out walking with my camera around my neck, carrying a huge haul of branches , flowers , leaves and sometimes shells and seaweed . I make ‘sun - prints’ (cyanotypes) , pressed flower compositions , linocut prints and recently imprinting botanicals into clay. https://www.cressidamurray.com</image:caption>

<image:title>Contact - Tara Gould is an award-winning writer, nature artist, and meditation teacher. Her recent work highlights through story and experiences how nature and the human are bound together, exploring landscape, change and loss, and how creation and celebration can emerge from the uncertainty and turbulence of life. Since the start of the pandemic, she has worked with local organisations facilitating guided nature walks, nature journaling and mindful writing workshops that draw on literature, art and wildlife to help individuals deepen their relationship with the natural world and find solace and inspiration. Tara is a former writer-in-residence at Preston Park Recovery Centre, a previous Arvon Award and Spotlight Award winner, and is currently writing a book of nature stories set at Tide Mills for which she is receiving the support of The Literary Consultancy and Creative Future. Tara has worked within the community across East Sussex with low income and unemployed people, underrepresented writers and vulnerable people in partnership with a number of charities and organisations including: · The Oyster Project, Creative Future, Scope, Pause, Preston Park Recover Centre, Lewes House of Friendship, East Sussex Count County, Brighton and Hove Adult Education Hub. With a Masters in Art, Education and Creative Writing Tara brings over twenty years of experience as a creative writing tutor to the table. She has a history of supporting emerging writers and founded the curated short story cabaret Short Fuse at Komedia in Brighton to provide a platform for local writing talent and more recently The Small Story Cabaret in Lewes. Tara is a keen hiker with a passion for nature and an intimate knowledge, built up over 25 years of residence, of the wildlife and landscape of East Sussex and the SDNP. She is passionate about the power of nature to restore balance and improve mental health and wellbeing. She recently collaborated with digital artist Thomas Buckley and a number of Brighton based community organisations to create this short film, How Moth the Night is, exploring nature and memory. It was shown as part of the Third Thursday arts, music, and culture programme https://www.creativefuture.org.uk/new-story/how-moth-the-night-is/</image:title>

<image:title>About Tara Gould - Kin Experiences</image:title>
<image:caption>Kin seeks to help people deepen their relationship with nature, and inspire new ways of enjoying our local enviroment. Through guided group activities we can enjoy a sense of freedom from constraints and modern confinements together, instead of in isolation. Guided nature walks, nature journaling and mindful writing workshops draw on literature, art and wildlife to help individuals find meaning, solace and inspiration. Kin activities are designed to restore balance and reignite fascination and flow, providing space away from screens and the digital world and helping people reconnect with one another and a shared love of nature and landscape. Nature Walks and art and writing workshops take place in and around the countryside of East Sussex and in Brighton, Lewes and Glynde. ‘As humans we think in metaphor. A journey on foot is a short pilgrimage and a way of engaging with our stories at a particular time in life. The objects we naturally find seem often to follow their own theme. The small events, sightings and experiences on the walk can reflect aspects of our current narrative, concerns or preoccupations and help us to see more clearly and find answers or inner guidance. This is a form of modern ritual, a kind of secular divining and can be deeply enlightening and therapeutic.’</image:caption>

<image:title>Meditation & Mindfulness</image:title>
<image:caption>A regular meditation practise has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety, increase feelings of inner peace and self-acceptance and improve physical and mental health. Meditation and mindfulness offer a way to live skillfully and gently, with respect and kindness for self, others and nature. A meditation practise can be created in a week and the benefits will be immediate but over time the positive impact of a sustained practise become deeper and more noticeable. The act of meditating regularly is a way of being still, and listening in carefully. In this way we begin to observe the truth of the present moment and also our defences and emotions with kindness, patience and understanding, without becoming overwhelmed or falling into fight or flight responses. Meditation and mindful or silent walking are both key features of Kin’s mindful nature walks but I also offer meditation courses and sessions online and in groups, plus one-2-one meditation coaching. My credentials I am a seasoned meditator and first learned and began practising meditation at age 19. I am also a certified meditation teacher and in 2019 I qualified at the British School of Meditation with a distinction. I lead low cost guided meditations on Zoom throughout the pandemic and have also lead a number of online course to Hanwell community residents as part of The Big Local. I have also lead meditation courses to children at my home in Glynde and The Unity Centre in Lewes.</image:caption>
